Y3 is a Los Angeles native born in Inglewood, CA. As a young child, Y3 was surrounded by the likes of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, and the entire Death Row family. By age two rap legend Kurupt had taken Y3 under his wing introducing him to the studio where he spent most of his time. At the age of 15, Y3 secured his first song appearance doing ab-lids on Kurupt’s call-out song titled “Calling Our Name”.
Y3 eventually joined the group YA (Young Assassin/Youth Authority) and released a single called Run & Duck. Y3’s second release “Holocaust” was released through Suge Knight and included features from Kurupt, Eastwood, and Gail Gotti. Y3 was given the opportunity to travel on the road with the Dogg Pound Ganstazs but took a pass due to a past commitment he made to his mother to graduate high school.
Through the years Y3 has worked closely with many hip hop legends including Dimond (Ganksta Bytch), Rich Cunningham, and Johnny J (2Pac/All Eyes On Me). Throughout the years Y3 has developed his sound through releasing music independently and staying active in the LA music scene. Be it tells of street struggles or party anthems, Y3’s lyrical content and cadence paint a real picture that’s relatable to his audience. Now signed with U Ain’t Us Ent, Y3 is focused on finishing what he started years ago.
